Developed under the leadership of the Statistics Division and the Division for Sustainable Development Goals’ (DSDG) of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs, the system of Internationalized Resource Identifiers (IRIs) for SDG, Targets, Indicators and related statistical series is part of the semantic web infrastructure that the UN Dag Hammarskjöld Library makes publicly available on its metadataun.org platform.
It formalizes links between the goals, targets, indicators and series, and two other crucial elements in the Linked Open Data infrastructure, namely: (1) the United Nations Thesaurus maintained by the UN Dag Hammarskjold Library, and (2) the SDG Interface Ontology (SDGIO), maintained by UN Environment.
The taxonomy is available online in the six official UN languages, and for download in ttl format.
